In my personal experience on bicycles and off road machines, it works about 98% of the time. We have a particularly mean thorn weed here that will go right through a bicycle tire and work its way through a cycle tire. But I have had to toss 3 digital tire preesure gages because the slime gets back in the mechanism and hardens and blocks it off. I don't have a solution, except I've started each tire pressure check with a blast of air into the valve stem trying to blow the goop aware from it. Luckily they are starting to be one sale now at $11.00 in good old J.C. Whitney. I got 3 of the ones that will check the back tire on the Savage with the last order from there. Max
